Common Rodents in Our Area
🐭 House Mouse
Small (2-4"), gray-brown, large ears. Most common indoor rodent. Excellent climbers, can squeeze through 1/4" gaps. Reproduce rapidly – 6-8 litters per year.
🐀 Norway Rat
Large (7-10"), brown, blunt nose. Lives in burrows, basements, and ground floors. Aggressive and will bite if cornered. Excellent swimmers.
🐀 Roof Rat
Medium (6-8"), black/dark brown, pointed nose. Excellent climbers – nests in attics, trees, and upper floors. Common in older Alexandria homes.
🐿️ Other Rodents
